Pulmonary Function Testing

Testing procedures

Pulmonary Function Testing comprises several parameters, but the overall goal is to assess lung health. The NTMC Cardiopulmonary Department offers Simple Spirometry and Pre and Post Spirometry as part of our Pulmonary Function Testing. Spirometry itself measures the speed and amount of air that is moving in and out of the lungs. Spirometry is typically used as a tool for diagnosing and monitoring chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Testing typically takes about 30 minutes to complete.

Note: Pulmonary Function Testing result is a preliminary report, not read by a doctor or pulmonologist. Test results will be shared with your doctor or provider.
