GAINESVILLE, Texas – The North Texas Medical Center (NTMC) Foundation in Gainesville was recently awarded a $40,000 grant from the Texas Women’s Foundation to support the purchase of new labor and delivery beds for the NTMC Women’s Center.

“This generous donation is a direct reflection of the dedication of our NTMC team, who identified a critical need in our Women’s Center and worked collaboratively to secure a solution,” said Matilin Harvey, Grant and Special Project Coordinator at Community Hospital Corporation. “For rural hospitals, grants are often the most accessible path to securing essential medical equipment, and we are profoundly grateful to the Texas Women’s Foundation for validating the hard work of our staff and investing in the care of our community.”

This grant will pay for the purchase of three new labor and delivery beds. The NTMC Women’s Center currently has four labor rooms, eight postpartum rooms, a dedicated operating room and a nursery.

“We are incredibly grateful to the Texas Women’s Foundation for this generous $40,000 grant,” said NTCM Women’s Center Director Jimae Eakins. “These new labor and delivery beds are critically needed to ensure we can continue providing the highest level of care for mothers and babies in our community. This bed offers the best comfort to our laboring mothers.”

The Texas Women’s Foundation is a leading driver of meaningful social and economic change for women, girls and families in Texas. According to the TWF website, they leverage research, advocacy, innovative programs and solutions, and grantmaking to further their  mission. They work to achieve our vision of an equitable society where women and girls are full participants. Over the past 39 years, they have awarded more than $85 million in grants.

The NTMC Foundation, which began in 1984 as the Gainesville Memorial Hospital Endowment Fund, exists to inspire philanthropy that will enhance the quality and availability of healthcare services for the patients and communities served by North Texas Medical Center.

The NTMC Foundation partners with generous individuals, businesses and foundations to contribute the resources necessary to provide unmatched healthcare to our region. Donor support helps expand service lines, purchase the latest equipment and technology, provide regional outreach, and support the education of healthcare professionals. The Foundation has been a vital source of funding for projects throughout the organization that enhances patient care and improves the patient experience.

North Texas Medical Center is an independent not-for-profit healthcare system. All revenue is reinvested back into the organization to support the enhancement and improvement of patient care for the region. The Foundation supports important projects that are vital to enhancing healthcare, but may not receive priority funding due to limited hospital resources. Furthermore, all decisions are made locally and based upon the needs of the population served in our area by community volunteers serving on both the hospital board and foundation board.
