GAINESVILLE, Texas – North Texas Medical Center in Gainesville has been recognized as a 5-Star Hospital by Forbes magazine. NTMC was one of only 16 hospitals in Texas to receive a 5-Star overall rating on the Forbes list, and one of just 259 nationwide out of 5,400 general acute-care hospitals the Forbes rating system evaluated.
This prestigious distinction reflects the excellence and dedication of NTMC’s health care team. According to Forbes, these ratings are designed to evaluate general acute care hospitals in the U.S and can be used as a resource for patients to find hospitals that can offer top-notch, high-value medical services.
“Earning a 5-Star overall rating from Forbes is a tremendous honor and a direct reflection of our team’s unwavering dedication to excellence,” said NTMC Chief Executive Officer Tom Sledge. “This recognition speaks volumes about the high-quality, patient-centered care our staff and providers deliver to the Gainesville community every single day. I am incredibly humbled and proud of our entire team for this outstanding achievement.”
To produce the Forbes Top Hospitals rating system, they identified healthcare quality measures that assess patient outcomes, hospital best practices, value, and patient experience. These measures were chosen specifically because they have been developed and regularly tested by leaders in the healthcare community to meet rigorous national standards.
“The list is based on vetted healthcare quality measures from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and produced in consultation with nationally recognized measurement experts, data scientists and health policy researchers,” said Rachel Rabkin Peachman, editor of Forbes Top Hospitals. “The ratings assess hospitals across categories including patient outcomes, best practices, value and patient experience, with patient outcomes receiving the greatest weight. “
This is the second award in less than a month for NTMC, who was also named a High Performing Hospital by US News and World Report.
