GAINESVILLE, TX – North Texas Medical Center recently celebrated National Hospital Week with special activities for their staff and the annual Employee Recognition Ceremony.
The ceremony included recognition of employees who reached milestones in service years at NTMC, as well as several special awards.
The Employee of the Year for 2021 was Bailey Green, the Nurse of the Year was Rita Motsenbocker, the Director of the Year was Kim Mellinger, and the Dan Wilford Award for Community Service went to Carey Spring.
Ten NTMC employees were honored for five years of service including Tiffani Bartush, Rosie Westbrook, Carol Steinbock, Caroline Little, Leaha Sweeney, Amy Baldwin, Sherry Zwinggi, Mary Ann Anderson, Billie Jo Westbrook and Racheal Varghese.
Employees honored for 10 years of service included Diann Zimmerer, Cody Durnberger, Kelli Mann and Kristi Rigsby.
Those with 15 years of service included Sharon Sampson and John Eason.
Employees with 20 years of service included Jenny Corcoran, Kim Huffstetler and Jason Endres.
The 25-year service award honorees included Sarah Clure and James Hennigan.
Sandy Carpenter was honored for her 35 years of service at NTMC.
This year’s theme for Hospital Week was “Saluting our Healthcare Heroes” and special activities were planned each day. Employees enjoyed food treats including popcorn, cookies and ice cream sundaes. A hamburger cookout was held, sponsored by Heart to Heart Hospice and Pecan Tree Health and Rehab. On the final day, Happy Dogs Corn Dogs brought their food truck and served meals to all employees. Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter brought some adoptable dogs for staff to play with, and a Pie-in-the-Face fundraiser featured volunteers including NTMC CEO Tom Sledge.
National Hospital Week is an opportunity to highlight hospitals, health systems, and health care workers and the innovative ways they are supporting and connected to their community.
