It’s Health Care for Children at School
The School-Based Telemedicine Program lets your child be evaluated by an NTMC Health Pediatrician or NTMC Health Nurse Practitioner right from school through a virtual conference. Your child receives the care they need without missing learning time by leaving school for an appointment.
Conditions We Treat
- Head Lice
- Pink Eye
- Skin Irritations
- Sore Throat
High-quality care, faster
School-based telemedicine can treat certain medical problems at school. The school nurse uses the tablet and software we provide to start an appointment for your child with one of our available providers. Within a few minutes, we can see and treat your child.
Parents are welcome to be a part of the virtual visit by logging into the call via video or phone.
Some school-based virtual visits may require a follow-up appointment with your child’s doctor. But usually, accessing NTMC Health’s providers from school helps your child get the treatment they need as soon as possible.
NTMC Health believes that every child deserves access to excellent, affordable health care. If you have commercial insurance or Medicaid, NTMC Health will verify your insurance coverage. With Medicaid, your visit will be completely covered. With commercial insurance, you may only be responsible for your office visit copay. If you do not have insurance, you will pay $50 for an office visit. Additional services such as lab services may have an additional cost.
Our providers also write prescriptions for generic medications that cost less – making your child’s care more accessible. Medicaid and private health insurance providers cover any necessary prescriptions.
