Clinic Revenue Cycle Director

Under the direction of the CFO, the Clinic Revenue Cycle Director directs and oversees the overall policies, objectives, and initiatives of the clinic revenue cycle activities to optimize the patient financial interaction along the care continuum. Will oversee the strategic direction, goal setting and performance management of the clinic revenue cycle processes, encompassing the best practices related to the use of technology and analytics, as well as practice management processes. 

  • Design, implement and monitor all key performance indicators to ensure that cash flow is maximized throughout the revenue cycle.
  • Develop, plan, organize, and implement current and future best practices for revenue cycle billing, collections, client accounting and other functions. Continually identify opportunities for enhancement of revenue capture processes and correct any operating issues that are hindering the maximization of cash flow.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Practice Leaders and Department leaders regarding front desk operations related to billing, cash management, collections activities and revenue cycle processes.
  • Consult with Compliance Department on questions related to coding and documentation criteria and collaborate with Compliance on auditing and monitoring activities.
  • Work collaboratively with other leaders on revenue cycle performance to meet strategic goals and develop guidelines, policies, and procedures through use of data analysis. Continually monitor billable revenues to budget, and identify and explain significant variances for all revenue streams.
  • Keep abreast of current and future, internal and external, payer trends and continually evaluate and establish all operational changes necessary to ensure maximization of revenue capture in light of changes in industry reimbursement streams.
  • Oversee contracts and credentialing, to include:
    • Help develop payer contracting strategy and facilitate the negotiation of contract terms and rates with health plans, Medicaid, and commercial payers;
    • Anticipate the impact of contract changes and communicate across the company
    • Oversee communications to payers for contract negotiations, policy clarifications, issues resolution and updates; and
    •  Collaborate with Finance to analyze payment trends and utilize findings in negotiations.
  • Support North Texas Medical Center (NTMC) in greater implementation of value-based contracting models, capitation, incentive plans and other alternative payment models..
  • Demonstrated financial management skills, including the ability to financially analyze data for operations, budgeting, auditing, forecasting; basic accounting knowledge; AR and reserve analysis, market analysis; staffing and financial reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated data driven experience in developing and using key performance indicators to drive business operations and identify issues requiring management attention.
  • Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of private and governmental insurance eligibility and verification, charge capture, CPT maintenance, coding, billing and collections, payment posting and self-pay.
  • Experience working with EMR’s/EPM’s across the revenue cycle discipline.
  • Maintain competency by engaging in various training and continuing education programs approved by the CFO.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical practice and revenue cycle management including third party reimbursement guidelines and procedures

Requirements:

NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

The Quality & Risk Management Director provides clinical and operational leadership for quality, infection control, risk & regulatory requirements for hospital acute care.

The position proactively works to ensure the quality and safety by continuous process improvement objectives and measures. The position advocates for quality, infection prevention, and safety, helps to promote systems that are patient and family-centered, and promotes linkage of key services and functions across the hospital.

The Quality & Risk Management Director directly reports to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). This individual will serve as part of the organization’s governing, decision-making, and strategic planning body, and is the advocate for quality and safety to the Board of Directors. The Quality & Risk Management Director will support a culture which values quality and safety above all, and an environment of healing.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates and oversees the quality and safety plans of the hospital; focus on maximizing efficiency and integration opportunities. Manage the hospital’s quality data collection.

  • Responsible for sustaining the standards of regulatory and governmental agencies.
  • Develops and oversees processes for internal incident reporting.
  • Manages operating budget for the department.

 Responsible for managing the accounting function throughout the Hospital, which includes all financial reporting, cash management, budgeting and auditing. Adheres to and enforces Hospital policies and procedures while maintaining compliance with state and federal laws along with GAAP. Manages all financial reporting for hospital, clinics and consolidated. 

  • Develops and maintains policies, procedures and internal controls in the areas of financial reporting and cash management throughout the accounting department as well as the hospital / clinics. 
  • Oversees the activities of the accounts payable functions for the accurate and timely recording and distribution of vendor invoices and payments. 
  • Manages / oversees biweekly payroll function; reviewing, processing, and analyzing all hours worked for accuracy ensuring appropriate employee payments and deductions, as well as accurate recording in the general ledger. 
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret financial information. After month end reporting identifies all major discrepancies from budget and provides explanations. 
  • Prepares all data financial and statistical to upload to CHC for monthly reporting in a timely manner. Ensures data reported is accurate and timely. 
  • Ability to communicate and respond effectively and with ease to all levels of employees, utilizing appropriate verbal and written communication tools. 
  • Completes month end and year end close procedures within predetermined timelines, ensuring accuracy of all financial reports including statistics. Monitor variance reports from budget. Provide variance analysis after month end reporting to CHC has been loaded. Analyze contractuals monthly and review trends, identify issues causing changes and or discrepancies, etc. 
  • Oversee / manage preparation of all account reconciliations of general ledger accounts, bank statements, and daily cash receipts analyzing discrepancies. Reviews all balance sheet reconciliations and completes the review of the Post Closing Review Guide by the 25th of the month. 
  • Monitors all capital acquisitions including leased equipment verifying documentation complete and in accordance with Hospital policy and budget. 
  • Responsible for hiring, training, firing and coaching staff as necessary (accountant and AP/PR clerk). 
  • Works closely with the Business Office Managers of Hospital and Clinics to ensure they understand the effect of their activity on the financials. Train and educate on Unbilled, and cash posting as necessary. Work with them on process improvements in this area.

Description:

  • Uses triage process to ensure timely and appropriate care to patients. Accurately assigns triage categories.
  • Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.
  • Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly interpret the results.

Respiratory Therapist

Description:

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician’s orders, department policies and procedures.

  • Maintains knowledge of the various methods of oxygen delivery, including the necessary equipment.  Remains aware of and assesses possible side effects to oxygen delivery
  • Administers respiratory therapy treatments, understands the purpose of each and the possible side effects associated with each.
  • Sets-up and monitors mechanical ventilators and the associated critical care duties required for such treatment, such as airway management and tracheal suctioning.
  • Performs arterial punctures to obtain arterial blood samples for blood gas analysis, and understands the possible complications and contraindications associated with the procedure.
  • Performs EKGs, types report interpretations, sends reports to physicians who requested them and files reports in department, according to department procedures.

  • Current Texas Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
  • High school graduate or equivalent must be submitted upon hire – proof of highest level of education must be submitted.
  • Current BLS certification.

  • Current PALS certification.
  • Current NRP certification within 6 months of hire within 6 months of hire.
